A Jewel set amidst the splendour of the Lake District and the beauty of the Furness Peninsula.

Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.

The course is designed to provide exciting and challenging golf to test players of all standards. Whether you are a seasoned all year golfer or a casual green fee player, Barrow Golf Club offers friendly and relaxed hospitality to all.

From your arrival to leaving the 19th hole, you can enjoy the highest levels of service from our experienced staff in the newly refurbished lounge with restaurant standard food available daily.

Barrow Golf Club is also an ideal venue for Corporate and Golf Society days and specific golfing packages can be arranged to suit particular requirements.

Dear Member,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe at this difficult time.

There is no change to the present situation in that the course remains closed due to the continuing coronavirus situation. The Management Committee continues to meet regularly via internet facilities and we are keeping a close watch on information coming from the government and the golf authorities. As soon as there is any change to the present advice we will let you know. We are currently advised that it is acceptable to carry out essential maintenance on the course therefore Phil and his team are continuing work to this achieve this aim.

Unfortunately we have been made aware that a couple of trespassers have been observed playing golf on the course. This has occurred after the Greenkeepers have finished their work for the day. As we understand it the trespassers are non-members as one individual has been identified. We will be discussing this issue with the police to see if they can offer assistance during the time that the course is not being maintained.

I do hope that this has been an isolated incident. It is unfortunate that some individuals take the law into their own hands. Not only that they choose to trespass on our golf course but they also clearly disregard the current government advice.

I will keep you updated of any new information regarding the course or changes to the current advice as, and when, any further news is announced.

In the meantime have a happy Easter weekend, stay safe and well.

Kind Regards
Steve Trainer

Further to the Prime Minister’s announcement (Monday 23rd March) we have to inform you that, unfortunately, Barrow Golf Course will be closed with immediate effect and until further notice.

We are extremely sorry to have to take this action however it is a necessary, and responsible, implementation as we try to limit the spread of the coronavirus and relieve growing pressure on the NHS.  Your health and well-being is our only consideration at this most difficult time.

We will keep you informed as soon as further information is known.

Thank you for your help and understanding.

Stay safe and well.

Kind Regards,

Steve Trainer
